Knysna’s best breakfast spots

East Head Café

Ile de Pain

Packed to the rafters every day of the week, Ile de Pain is somewhat of a legacy in Knysna.

Head there early to secure a table and start your day with melty all-butter and almond croissants, pain au raisin or poached eggs on their famous 50% rye-sourdough. This is an extremely popular spot and reservations are not accepted so get there early to get a table.

Café Z at Pezula

For a super sleek breakfast, this trendy venue won’t disappoint.

Serving simple and wholesome food that is freshly from local produce grown in the resort’s vegetable and herb garden, a delicious array of traditional and adventurous dishes is on offer and well worth a visit. Try the shitake mushroom open omelette for a winning breakfast.

Lunar Café

Lunar Café is all about coffee and fantastic coffee at that! Small and intimate, the quirky bistro fills up quickly with coffee aficionados seeking their daily fix and foodies looking for a tasty bite.

Funky white designer chairs and simple grey tables offset the exquisite detail of an ancient Persian carpet which proudly takes centre-stage in the middle of the triple volume interior. The chocolate cake is to die for.
