New Jersey restaurants can open for indoor dining for the first time since March.

The first fall Jersey Shore Restaurant Week took place more than a decade ago in November, and that is when it has been held since.
But this year, organizers moved the event – a 10-day celebration of local chefs and restaurants – to October “so that restaurants can take advantage of the nice weather and maximize their revenues as they head into the fall and winter season,” they said.
Restaurant Week, which was founded by Jim Flynn of Brielle and is sponsored by the Grunin Foundation, will take place Oct. 2 to 11. During that time, dozens of Monmouth and Ocean county restaurants will offer prix fixe meals for lunch, dinner or both. Among the participants: B2 Bistro in Point Pleasant Beach and Red Bank, The Whitechapel Projects in Long Branch, Flames Brazilian Steakhouse in Belmar, Ott’s Good Earth Garden in West Creek, Johnny Piancone’s in Long Branch, and Atlantic Offshore Fishery in Point Pleasant Beach.

The spring Restaurant Week, originally scheduled for April, was postponed twice because of the coronavirus pandemic. It took place in June as a takeout format.
The fall event’s annual Great Jersey Shore Burger Contest also returns; the outdoor contest will take place Oct. 10 at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como. Burger fans can vote for their favorite local burger – past winners include Burger 25 in Toms River and St. Stephen’s Green Publick House in Spring Lake Heights – and sip beer from Frye Brewing Company in Point Pleasant Borough, Toms River Brewing, Asbury Park Brewery, Carton Brewery in Atlantic Highlands, and Flying Fish Brewing Co. in Somerdale.
