STAMFORD — Local seniors enjoyed Taco Tuesday, thanks to the Stamford Senior Center’s monthly drive-thru lunch program.

One Stamford resident who picked up his free meal on Tuesday was 90-year-old Bob Hatem in a safe hand-off from Jill Cofrancesco, area business development director for LCB Senior Living.

Over 150 lunches were prepared and handed out to Stamford seniors.

For Taco Tuesday, the theme of the event, guests enjoyed two tacos (beef or chicken), rice and beans, salad and a drink.

The meals were prepared by the crew from Tacos and Quesadillas food truck, which serve up the Mexican delight to the cheers of the volunteers and staff of the Stamford Senior Center and the staff of the Residence at Summer Street, which co-sponsored the event.

Mariachi music filled the air, entertaining the many staff members, seniors and their caregivers who passed through the meal pickup area.
